Every rewrite begins with an idea - but sometimes the best way to understand that idea is to see it. Over the years, Phoenix Studios has created a collection of fan-made posters to accompany our rewrites, pitches, and alternate takes on familiar stories. Each piece was designed to imagine these projects as though they were real productions, giving the stories a visual identity beyond the page and screen. Welcome to the gallery.
The Art Behind the Rewrites
The Rewrite Collection
These pieces were never meant to replace the official artwork or represent actual productions. They are fan-made extensions of the stories explored through Phoenix Studios - visual experiments designed to make an alternate movie, sequel, or adaptation feel just a little more real.

Transformers 2
Because Phoenix Studios’ rewrite of Transformers 2 expands the film into a larger space opera, this poster trades the traditional disaster-movie composition of the live-action films for something closer to an ensemble science-fantasy. Inspired by the character collages of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker, the composition divides the story between two opposing worlds: the Autobots in cool blue and the Decepticons in hostile red. Bumblebee and Sam (a.k.a. Spike) occupy the center, caught directly between both sides of an escalating Cybertronian conflict.

Transformers 3
For Transformers 3, the goal was to continue the ensemble scale of the previous poster while experimenting with a more symbolic composition. With the moon playing a central role in the Decepticons’ plan, the characters are arranged within its silhouette, turning an important piece of the story into the poster’s visual frame. The design draws inspiration from fan-made artwork for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Infinity War, and Endgame, using the collage to bring the film’s growing cast together while placing the conspiracy looming above Earth quite literally behind them.
Gotham City Sirens
Digital Fan Poster | 2022
Designed for Phoenix Studios’ reimagining of Birds of Prey as a Gotham City Sirens story, this poster embraces the instability of its three leads. The entire composition tilts off balance, reflecting Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy as women who are already chaotic, damaged, and unpredictable on their own. The result is intentionally loud, crooked, and unruly. The crowded skyline, fireworks, police lights, tangled vines, and clashing colors all feed into that idea, surrounding the Sirens with a Gotham that already feels overstimulated.

Martian Manhunter
Created for Phoenix Studios' pitch for a 1950s-set Martian Manhunter mystery, this poster approaches the character as the stranger at the center of an old science-fiction noir. Inspired by the poster for The Sixth Sense, J’onn stands beneath two worlds, Earth and Mars, while the enormous, barely visible Martian behind him suggests the mystery looming beyond what he understands.

Nightwing
Created for Phoenix Studios’ pitch for a standalone Nightwing film. This piece took visual inspiration from the Skyfall poster. Dick Grayson stands alone against a minimalist black backdrop while the larger conflict is contained within the shape behind him. The restrained composition, cool blue accents, and silhouettes of the birds present Nightwing as the leading man of his own spy thriller.
Megatron
Digital Fan Poster | 2023
Designed for the Megatron origin story as part of Phoenix Studios' 80's Cinematic Universe project, this piece reflects the film’s blend of gritty war epic and Shakespearean tragedy. Megatron is framed almost like a revolutionary icon, towering above the smoke and fire while the cold industrial palette is broken only by the red of his eyes and the violence beneath him. The heroic composition is intentionally deceptive.
