Rewrites and creative fan-fiction have been a cornerstone of Phoenix Studios since the earliest days of the YouTube channel. Some projects revisit stories that never quite reached their potential. Others imagine sequels that were never made, adaptations that never existed, or entirely different directions familiar characters and worlds might have taken. These projects are less about replacing the originals and more about asking one simple question: What if the story took another path?

The Rewrite Challenge
Great stories are not limited to a single storyteller. The Star Wars & Transformers Rewrite Challenge invited members of the Phoenix Studios community to take familiar characters, worlds, and ideas and reimagine them through their own creative lens.
The Prompt
Participants were challenged to continue one of Phoenix Studios’ unfinished rewrite series - Star Wars Episodes II and III, the Transformers Sequel Trilogy, or Transformers: Prime Seasons 2 and 3 - using the existing videos and story outlines as a starting point. Writers were free to follow those ideas, remix them, or take the story in an entirely different direction, with no required length or format beyond finding the best way to tell their version of the story. The goal was simple: take what came before and make the next chapter your own. All submissions were due by August 2026.
