Rewriting Transformers Prime

Transformers: Prime remains one of the franchise’s most ambitious animated series, but that doesn’t mean every idea reached its full potential. This rewrite revisits the show’s first season with a different approach to its characters, conflicts, and mythology while preserving the darker tone and Cybertronian war story that made the series memorable.

Why Rewrite Prime?

A rewrite doesn’t have to begin with a bad story. Sometimes the most interesting projects come from stories that already work but leave unexplored possibilities behind. In collaboration with TheDarkLord, this series approached Transformers: Prime from that perspective - keeping the characters, tone, and ideas we loved while asking where different creative choices might lead them.

The Rewrite Challenge

Although Phoenix Studios never produced its own Seasons 2 and 3, the story didn’t have to end there. As part of the Star Wars & Transformers Rewrite Challenge, writers were invited to use our Season One rewrite as their starting point and imagine where the series might go next.

From the Archive

The original plan was to continue the rewrite through Seasons 2 and 3, but Season One ultimately became the only installment produced for the channel. The project is currently archived as a completed first-season rewrite, preserving the ideas that were developed while leaving the door open to those stories being revisited someday.
